The Green Certificate Program is an apprenticeship-style agricultural training program covering nine specialization areas:
- Field crop
- Irrigated crop
Trainees in the program work with a trainer who is knowledgeable in a particular specialty. The program is hands on; trainees actively learn skills by following their trainer's lead.
As trainees progress, they are presented with testing opportunities to work towards certification. Upon completion of the program, trainees earn up to 16 high school credits (33 level).
At the high school level, the program operates under the supervision of a school representative following the Off-Campus Education Policy. The Green Certificate Regional Coordinator leads induction meetings, schedules testing, and training events and is available for support to trainees, trainers, and school representatives.
