MCHS Lockdown Update
December 1, 2016 - We'd like to provide an update to parents and guardians of Memorial Composite High School students regarding the lockdown that took place at the end of the school day Thursday, December 1st.
At approximately 1pm Thursday afternoon, Stony Plain/ Spruce Grove/ Enoch RCMP were notified of a potential threat directed toward a student at Memorial Composite High School.
The RCMP responded immediately to investigate these concerns. At approximately 3:15pm, Memorial Composite High School was set into lockdown as a precaution while police combed the area/and cleared the school looking for the suspect. The lockdown was lifted at 3:45pm.
Administration at Memorial Composite High School and Parkland School Division were advised immediately of this concern and prepared/distributed communication to parents. At no time was any member of the public, school personnel or affected students at risk.
We'd like to thank all the parents and students for their cooperation during this lockdown. As always, should an emergency situation occur, we encourage all parents and students to follow our Emergency Response procedures found on www.psd70.ab.ca.
