Positive COVID Case Identified at MCHS
Friday, November 20, 2020
Dear parents/guardians of Memorial Composite High School,
Parkland School Division has been notified that an individual in the Memorial Composite High School community has tested positive for COVID-19. We are currently waiting for confirmation from Alberta Health Services (AHS). If AHS confirms that this is, in fact, a positive case, they will conduct a case investigation to determine if these individuals may have been at our school while infectious.
To respect the privacy of these individuals, we are not in a position to disclose their personal information. However, we are able to share that the individual is currently isolating at home.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have already been in contact with the parents and guardians of the students who were in the same cohort as the individual who has been advised that they have tested positive. If you have not heard from us, then your child was not identified to be in the potentially impacted cohort or close contact zone on the bus.
All necessary protocols regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), physical distancing when possible, hand hygiene, and cleaning have been followed in accordance with our 2020-21 Plan for School Re-entry.
For questions about COVID-19, call 811 or visit the division's COVID-19 Info page.
Carolyn Jensen, Principal
