MCHS offers academic support and guidance to our First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students through the work of our Indigenous Graduation Coach(es) in the Indigenous Culture and Education (ICE) Program. We aim to assist students and families in establishing student success in high school while building culture and community.
Students involved in the ICE program receive one-to-one support in their courses and in the school community, with the focus placed on transitions, academic counseling and post-secondary guidance. Indigenous students are provided with a common space known as “The Hub,” and the opportunity to engage in academic tutoring during “Homework in the Hub” where they can connect academically, socially and culturally.
